The mission of the Capitol Skating School, LLC, is to provide sincerely friendly, quality instructional ice-skating programs for individuals of all ages, and to encourage participation and achievement in all facets of ice-skating.

Capitol Skating School is under the direction of Madison’s own Figure Skating Gold Medallist, Cesca Supple. Cesca has been coaching beginner through advanced level figure skaters for the past twenty years, successfully coaching Madison area figure skaters through Senior Regional Competitions. She received her training in competitive figure skating under World and Olympic Coaches Evy Scotvold and Mary Luddington Scotvold. The Professional Skaters Association of America (PSA) certifies Cesca as a “Senior Level Figure Skating Coach”.

Cesca is also widely known for developing the outstanding “Powerskating Techniques for Hockey Players” that she teaches in many area hockey programs. Cesca earned a BS degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, majoring in Nutritional Sciences with a minor in Exercise Physiology.

Tricia Ballweg, Capitol Skating School Administrator, received her figure skating training from Mary Luddington Scotvold. Tricia was former assistant to the Director of the Madison Ice Skating Academy. Tricia earned a BA degree in psychology from UW – Madison.

Capitol Skating School is strongly committed to providing a quality US Figure Skating "Skate With US" class instructional program for ages 3 through adult, that has a low student: teacher ratio (4/5:1 for Snowplow Sam/tots and 6/8: 1 for other classes). Class participants receive personal attention in a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere ensuring safe, and successful progress. Capitol Skating School offers a complete figure skating training program for beginners through senior levels of figure skating. Hockey players are taught to sharpen their skating and agility skills through the hockey skating techniques and powerskating classes. Innovative programs are all available at the most complete and popular two-ice sheet skating facility, Capitol Ice in Middleton.

The Professional Skaters Association (PSA) Is the Official Coaches’ Ethical, Educational, Certification and Ranking Program.

The PSA Official Rating System provides professionals with validation of their skating and teaching skills. Parents looking for private coaches can be guided by the PSA coach's ratings since PSA ratings are an assurance that the professional hired is ethically and technically qualified to instruct at the level in which they are rated. Ratings are offered in all aspects of figure skating. These ratings by level of expertise are: Registered, Certified, Senior and Master levels, and are based upon the Professional’s own skating accomplishments, the accomplishments of their students, and written and oral examinations. Before a coach can begin the rating certification, that coach must become registered by passing the Basic (written) Accreditation Exam. Once that exam is passed, a qualified professional may apply to take the first level, the Certified Level, and in time can progress to the Senior and then to the highest accredited level, that of Master. These two higher level examinations consist of intense oral and on-ice testing from a panel of Masters, National, and Olympic coaches. Passing examinees receive a rating certificate for the specific level passed. All PSA Coaches are required to take continuing education credits in order to maintain or advance their ratings.
